Agentic Wallets: Supported Chains, Costs, and Limits

Supported Blockchains

Agentic wallets support all EVM-compatible chains and Solana:

EVM Chains: Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum, Optimism, Polygon, and others
Non-EVM: Solana

Gasless Transactions on Base

Base provides gasless transactions for agentic wallet users. Coinbase subsidizes transaction costs to enable frictionless autonomous operation. This eliminates the operational risk of agents becoming stuck mid-workflow due to insufficient gas fees.

On other chains, standard gas fees apply. Agents must maintain sufficient gas token balances (ETH on Ethereum, SOL on Solana) to execute transactions.

Pricing Model

Wallet creation: Free
Authentication: Free
Pre-built skills: Free
Base transactions: Zero gas fees (Coinbase subsidized)
Other chains: Standard gas fees apply
Transaction fees: Standard DEX swap fees and protocol fees apply

Coinbase's business model focuses on protocol-level transaction fees rather than charging for wallet infrastructure access.

API Usage Limits

API limits depend on your Coinbase Developer Platform tier:

Free tier: Development and testing with rate limits on API calls
Paid tiers: Higher throughput for production deployments

Typical Spending Limit Ranges

Developers set spending limits based on use case:

Conservative (testing/low-value):

  • Session cap: $50 per 24 hours
  • Transaction limit: $10 per transaction

Moderate (API payments):

  • Session cap: $200 per 24 hours
  • Transaction limit: $25 per transaction

Aggressive (DeFi management):

  • Session cap: $2,000 per 24 hours
  • Transaction limit: $500 per transaction

Limits are fully customizable based on your agent's requirements and risk tolerance.
